Titus Andronicus - Upon Viewing Brueghel’s “Landscape With The Fall Of Icarus”
Glorying in that time I booked Titus to play a benefit for Men Can Stop Rape in a high school cafeteria, because I don’t want to get work done.
Also, I am OG.
The World is a Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid to Die - Beverly Wyatt
And only a couple months til the full length finally drops! Mark my words that I definitely said a long time ago: this band will blow up the world.
P.S. Eliot - Pink Sheets
I never gave Sadie enough of a chance, to be honest. I think I was turned off by the bizarre and bad production choices, turning the lead guitar and bass way, way down, while cranking the lead, vocals, and drums out of proportion and far up in the mix. It’s not muddled because there’s so much empty space that should be taken up by bass, so it just feels hollow.
Which is a shame, because these are the best songs Katie Crutchfield ever wrote, up until Cerulean Salt. They’re poppy, but don’t always follow standard melodic patterns. They’re simple, but with a sucker-punch lyrical wallop. And they’re catchy as all hell. It’s a shame P.S. Eliot were basically dead by the time it came out, but hey, at least Waxahatchee and Swearin’ have turned out to be worth it.
